Dr. Marek Szpalski takes over the role from Dr. Jeffrey A Goldstein, NYU Langone Medical Center Hospital for Joint Diseases, New York. Dr. Szpalski began his medical education at the Free University of Brussels, where he currently serves as an associate professor. He is also chairman of the department of orthopaedic trauma surgery at the Brussels-based IRIS South Teaching Hospitals. Dr. Szpalski is an adjunct associate professor of orthopaedics at New York City-based New York University.
ISASS - The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery - Is the largest international society dedicated to spine surgery. ISASS is a global scientific and educational society organized to provide a venue to discuss and address the issues involved with all aspects of spine surgery care. The Society focuses on basic and clinical science and outcomes of spine surgery including motion preservation, minimally invasive procedures, stabilization, innovative technologies and techniques, biologics and other fundamental topics to restore and improve spine function for patients, surgeons, scientists, inventors and others. ISASS is dedicated to advancing significant evolutionary steps in spine surgery.
