ISASS names Dr. Frank Phillips Society President for the Year 2020-2021

Dr. Frank Phillips, MD, -the Spine IEP Fellows and Young Surgeons’ Course director -became the president of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery at the organization’s annual meeting in Puerto Rico this February.
Dr. Phillips is the director of the section of minimally invasive spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and a past president of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. Dr. Phillips earned hs medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
As a pioneer in minimally invasive and motion-sparing techniques for spinal procedures his research has been highly awarded. Dr. Phillip’s has been the course director of the Spine IEP Fellows and Young Surgeons’ course for 10 years.
